If you are planning to visit the sunny island of Rhodes and stay in one of the rhodes hotels 5 stars or if you are already on the island, there are places of significant historical value that you could visit.
Starting from the city center, walk through the narrow, picturesque streets of the Old Town until you reach the Palace of the Grand Master. Take a tour of the palace rooms and you will automatically be transported to an era of nobility.
After your tour of the Palace, you will see a cobbled street called 'Knight's Street'. There, the Knights of Rhodes, for whom it is famous, lived in their seven lodges. There are seven, because they symbolize the seven countries from which they came and each of the accommodations has on its upper part, the flag of each country. The lodges are still in operation today and either house public services or host cultural events.
At the end of the road, on the right side you will see the Archaeological Museum which functioned in the Middle Ages as a hospital for knights. There is still a room there, which was used as a treatment area for wounded knights.
One of the places worth visiting in Rhodes while your stay in one of the rhodes hotels 5 stars is the small port in Mandraki. This acts as a marina for ships and boats offering plenty of activities to visitors to the island. The entrance of the port consists of 2 columns on which are the statues of a male and a female deer, which are symbols of the city. According to legend, there was also one of the seven wonders of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes, which also symbolized the sun god.
On the opposite side is the Fortress of Agios Nikolas that protected the city from enemies. According to history, the coveted island of Rhodes, also known as the "emerald island", with its beautiful green vegetation, was the jewel of the Aegean, a trophy that many peoples tried to conquer.
